THIS! I have always felt this. I mean seriously, people can try and blame the writers all they want but the truth is FOX, the network has control of what is or isn’t shown. It wouldn’t surprise me if they gave the writers/Glee show runners rules on how many times the “gays” can touch, kiss, how far they need to be apart at certain times, etc. I FULLY blame the network. Because truth is the writers would not be writing this kind of stuff just to cut it last minute, what would be the point? I have always hated FOX and the fact it’s run by an ultra conservative asshole and what they do to the various gay characters and such featured on certain shows just pisses me off. It honestly would not shock me if FOX told the Glee peeps that if one of the same-sex couples on the show kiss in an episode the other can’t or hell they may have even said “Look we can tolerate the same-sex female couple kissing on the cheek here and there or whatever, but the male couple, nope you can’t do that…”
It could be a long array of stupid shit like this and I for one am not shocked by the actions of this network. I have never nor will I ever blame the writers, producers, etc. of Glee for this stupid issue, which wouldn’t be an issue if the show was on ANY OTHER NETWORK, they have to work and can only work within the guidelines of the network. It sucks but that’s how it works. I am totally not excusing some of the bad writing of the show (because some of the story lines…seriously, WTF?!), etc. but with regards to these scenes (which were written by the actual writers of Glee, so they were there for a reason) I am not throwing them under the bus. I hope we see so much more in the next season and beyond, but I can also appreciate what we have had (as minute comparatively to other couplings as it has been) and what was originally WRITTEN and INTENDED (i.e. the box scene, etc.)

Kurt Hummel feelings below the cut.
I’m still coming to terms with my bisexuality and things I’ve always felt, and you know who has helped me with that? The character Kurt Hummel. I identify with his character on so many levels and he (along with Chris Colfer) have given me COURAGE to be who I am, even if I’m still scared. That’s what I’ve always loved about GLEE, but what happened to Kurt made me livid. I was speechless and then I went into full rant mode. It makes me so mad that he didn’t get in, and like you I adore Rachel, really I do. I understand her and her drive, because I’m the same way, but the fact is that IT. SHOULD. HAVE. BEEN. KURT. Period. End of story. Kurt Hummel works just as hard and is just as talented as Rachel Berry and yet time and time again he gets shit on. And yes you are absolutely right, he doesn’t need NYADA but HE DESERVED IT. I mean I would have learned to be ok with the idea of him “giving” his spot to Rachel if that meant he was accepted and she wasn’t because at least then, for a moment, he would have received confirmation that YES, KURT YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! AND YOU ARE JUST AS GOOD (IF NOT BETTER IN THIS INSTANCE) AS RACHEL BERRY! Rachel Berry is going to be a star and she works her ass off for it, BUT she CHOKED during her audition (which happens!) and Kurt Hummel DID NOT! HE DESERVED IT!
All I want is season four to be the season where Kurt gets to be happy and gets to achieve things that no one ever thought he could do, because Kurt is awesome like that.
With everything he’s been through and gone through Kurt Hummel deserves the world, and for once I’d like to see the world give back to him just a little of everything he’s already given it.
